Worth it?

I have a Xig Dark Knight on my Phenom 955 BE. Was wondering if it would be worth it to upgrade to a Corsair H70?

Thanks!

Oh yeah and I am at 3.6 running in the 30's idle and under 50 full load.

Probably not. A lot of numbers I see from H70 aren't that great. It would probably put you high 20's/low 30's idle and you could maybe stay in the high 40's under load with good fans and a cool ambient temp. A lot of temps I see from people are actually close to 60 under load. So while acceptable, probably not worth it for you with your current temps.

Any air cooler at comparable price point will send the H70 packing, I would move on from that idea

H70 is not cheap. I would save more money and go to a full loop, xspc kit or something worth keeping thru the long haul.

Thank you kind sir for the reply, thought so but just wasn't sure if it would help my room not get as warm or anything.

Its just the Corsairs seem so easy to install and I have never done H20 before. What about the H50?

Rather than getting the H70 I would get any of these two:

1) NH-D14(Can someone tell me if his ram is compatable?)
2) Silverarrow (Same for the NH-D14)

If your ram isn't compatible then get yourself a Scythe Mugen 2 with a dual fan setup.

Edit: What is your ambient because I can get like 29/30 idle and 50/51 at 4ghz. try to put your FSB to 250 and up the clock while keeping the voltage to 1.4v in the bios. I can get 4ghz at 1.41v, fully prime stable.

I was never happy with mine ultimately. I have a thread about moving back to air and watercooling my vid card instead, end result is I have better temps surprisingly on an aircooler w/o a fan.

I have a xig (about to mount vertical when my kit comes it for it) I just change my multiplier no other on OC.
