How's Gigabyte's RMA

Thread Starter
My GTX 480 SOC arrived the other day open box from the Egg and I can see why it was returned. Lots o errors in OCCT and OC scanner in under a minute at default clocks and voltages. So it needs to go back.

Thing is I really like the card and love the price I got it for ($300) factory oc unstable aside.

Sending it back to the Egg is not really an option since I can't get a replacement only refund. Gonna put that three year warranty that came with the card to good use.

So was looking for a little feedback I guess from people that have dealt with Gigabyte's RMA before. How it went, how long it took, did you need a second RMA, not find the defect and item sent back to you?? Type of thing.

I RMA'd a motherboard about 1 1/2 years ago and it was a good experience. Took a couple days shy of a month to get the new board which isn't too bad compared to other experiences I've had with some other companies (HIS ) and it was around the holiday season so they were probably a little busier than usual. They sent me a new one and it worked perfectly.

Congrats on the good deal though. Hopefully you can get it replaced

I had to rma a gtx460 in january and it was a quick turnaround. I think they had it less than a week before they shipped the replacement.

Yeah I seen that and was still left wanting a little more if you know what I mean.

Could Gigabyte use some other method of testing the card and find the card is fine and send it back to me even though it errors like hell in OCCT and OC Scanner?

I guess that's the main thing I'm worried about here.

I received a new MB in about 2 weeks give or take. There was no communication at all with what happen to the board or what was wrong with it. I just received a new MB....

Other than lack of communication, i would say they have a good RMA process.
