GTA4 w/6950 2GB, 57.9 FPS, everything MAXED at 1920x1080

So in GTA 4 with reflections, ....., view distance, detail distance...all of it MAXED at 1920x1080, except Vsnyc

and using

305x12=3.66 CPU
305x9= 2.75 NB
1626 RAM

At stock on the 6950 I got ~1540MB used on the VRAM, and in the benchmark I had

avg FPS 57.9
CPU usage 67%
RAM usage 64%
VRAM usage 45%

With the default CCC fan profile of auto, and my front fan feeding it too, its at 32C, and reached 64C in GTA4, with the fan a bit too loud, but its lower pitched than the smaller fan on my 5670.

so thats great.

In BFBC2, and runs very smooth and no more slowing down due to heavy explosions, smoke, etc...

But now I have to cook some food, before I try some other games.

Try actually playing the game maxed out. You won't get 57 FPS, that's for sure. The benchmark doesn't stress the CPU like actual GTA gameplay.

Well it seems fine enough, no noticeable slow downs.

I just downloaded FRAPS, I try test it soon.

Later that same day.....

Yeah with everything maxed, FRAPS went as low as 25 fps driving around in places, averaged about 32, and sometimes goes over 60

So far to get a min. fps of ~33, an average of ~44, and lots of 55-60 driving in some places, +70 sometimes, I changed to

reflections on high
shadows on high

25
25
25
4

Standing at the top of the stairs in the 1st safehouse, it goes from 72-49, as I look around at the walls, and at the bottom of the stairs it ranged from ~62-50. In the center of the apartment itself it was like 71-73 in all directions. So I need to read up on optimizing which ever settings.

SAD, and I will probably have finished the game by the time I get a x6 1090

I installed the latest Trixx, now I OCed it to 908/1320 so far, but can't adjust the voltage (yet), so in CCC I turned up the 20% power boost.

1350 froze GTA4 a couple of times, but luckily it seems Trixx detected it, and after ~30s, kicked out to windows or got the alt+tab, with GTA4 still running, so I slowed to 1320 and it hasn't happened since.

I went to
28
28
28
8

Made a pretty good difference on the fps, a lot more high 50s-60s in places that were mid 40s, lowest was about 38. And now 60-70 is fairly common driving/running around, but I've never seen over 72, this was mostly at night this time though, I hope it holds into day time.

In the house its now all 71-72, just out around the door is around 55-72.

All this might seem pointless to some, but who else am I gonna tell.
