i5 2500k / 1090t ?

Thread Starter
so , i'm doing this build for my dad's friends's cousin . complicated .

I can chose to do it like mine ( i5 2500k + p8p67 le but + 4gb ram)

Or amd route : (1090t + GA-890FXA-UD5 + 8gb ram )

graphics will be 6950 2gb (will unlock it) .

Power supply i'll give him my old corsair (750w)

so , who votes for which ? I forgot to mention he only changes computers in years , si it's got to be future proof . the future - proofer , the beter .

I'd personally go for a i5 as i just love mine . i never tried the phenoms so i can't compare .

I'd either wait for Bulldozer or go 2500K. Not much is going to utilize the six cores of the 1090T, unless it's going to be used for intense video editing or folding or whatnot. Average user doesn't need that power. Also you've got WAY more OC headroom on the i5 from what I've heard.

i had my 2500k under a mates coolermaster hyper 212 the other day and i got 4.8 - 1.33v stable (needless to say my hyper 212 is in the post). id reccomend going with a 2500k to anyone looking at a new build as long as they can afford it! from what i hear the 1090t isnt as good as youd think!

im with darthjoe229 on this one!

EDIT:what sort of temps are you getting with the h50 at what clock? is it worth the money?
