Help with my i5-2500K overclock

Thread Starter
Hello,

I've had my i5-2500K for a few days now and I keep having issues once I go to 5Ghz.
My fourth core INSTANTLY crashes on prime95 with the error;
'fatal error rounding was 0.5 expected less than 0.4'

I have no clue what to do with this, its not a blue screen so I expect I'm close to getting 5Ghz stable.
But even if I go to 1.4V or raise my VCCIO and VCCSA a bit it just wont go stable.

I dont like going above 1.4V either because then my temps will go above 75C (I'm trying to stay below that.)

Am I just hitting a wall or am I missing something?
I have attached a screenshot of the OC I'm trying to do.

5ghz+ usually requires 1.45v (load) or more. Depending on your cooling, temps could be 80-85c. I'm personally fine with temps <= 85c at max during prime. Avg is usually 80c and no real world app or game I've ran even comes close to the temps prime dishes out. I wouldn't mess with VCCIO or VCCSA as they didn't make any difference for me to hit 5.633ghz.

Thanks everyone.
I was thinking about putting more voltage trough it but I was afraid of going over the max 24/7 voltage.

What is the max voltage for these chips anyway?

"Safe" 1.35v

Pushing it 1.45v

Living on the edge 1.5v

Is 200 MHz really worth the extra possible wear and tear going from 1.35v to 1.45v?

Im in the process of lowering my vcore to find out how low I can go.
im keeping it at a lean 4.6gig and im at 1.4v and falling. Im hoping for about 1.375v but lower would be nice.

I wouldn't be surprised to see 1.3-1.35V for 4.6GHz.
