No video on new AMD build

Thread Starter
I just freshly purchased a tall order of parts on newegg in a concise amount of time. Maybe 2-3 weeks it took this build to be completely finished; well, not so much.

It was working sharp, or so I thought it would. I just purchased an Asrock 870 board and placed the AMD 1090 x6 in. This is all being powered by my Apevia Warlock 900w PSU.

I then slipped and pinched in 2, 2gb Corsair 1333 chips of ram and so on. There is no video coming from the 5770 I inserted in the PCIE 2 slot, so I tried the 4th and still no luck.

After doing so, I tried messing around with the ram by taking one out, and then switching slots and still no luck.

However, I did install coolermasters v8 over the 1090t, but, comon. Now, I had to take all of this out and I installed everything on my old Biostar A880+ motherboard, no luck either.

I even tried just using the onboard video, and I did install the AMD 550 I had laying around and still no luck.

Any suggestions? I have tried the 2 5770s, and I have tested the asus monitor I am using on a working PC and it works but, not this AMD build so far.

So you said that you tried the CPU and GPU in two different motherboards?

Have you tried installing the RAM into the furthest slot away from the CPU socket and clearing the CMOS?

Also try hooking your monitor up to your second-down DVI output. The first DVI output on 5770's has known hardware acceleration issues.

And do you have a speaker hooked up to your front panel connectors? I'd install one if you don't so you can listen to the beeps. After you've cleared the CMOS and most of the time on first bootup, you should hear a single beep coming from the speaker. If not, then something's certainly wrong with your hardware config, and I have a feeling it's the RAM.

I sure have! - I tried the 550 and the 1090 on both the Biostar A880+ and the 870 Asrock so I rule that out as being the problem.

I've tried using the onboard video on the Biostar and, it no longer is giving me any signal so it can't be the 5770s.

You could also check to see if your monitor will receive a signal. Try connecting someone's laptop to it, unless you don't have any monitor doubts.

Erghh, I really tried using both DVI ports at different times, I even tried using one of the HDMI cables to see if I got any signal! but, really no luck!

I really do think it's the ram. I tried clearing the cmos and placing both, and even one ram stick in the slots which are further away from the processor and have no idea what the problem is for me.

The light does turn blue when inserting the DVI cable in and out of the 5770 so, I just don't get why there isn't any video.

Umm... the CPU power is in right? It's right next to the CPU, make sure its the right one and its in tight.
