[CY] Battlefield 3 on consoles to have smaller maps - Page 6

Dice is even being considerate to the console players, how generous.
Well they could optimize these larger maps to work on consoles but they'd end up looking like Minecraft with extra bloom.

Anyways, back OT, that sucks for console users, although it makes sense. I'd love to play BF3 on PC, but the reality is that I'm not going to spend $1,200 for a new computer to do so. I imagine I'll end up having it on the PS3 at some point or another.

Oh well.
This statement is always made by console users and its ridiculous. Every console user also has a computer or 2(desktop + laptop). The average cost of prebuilts people buy (I stalk bestbuy) are $600.

Add in the cost of an xbox $399-479 (release day) and we are already up to $1000. Next add in all the accessories overpriced games and the PC starts looking good. I would also like to mention most people I know have multiple consoles, so lets add in the price of a PS3 and Wii and we have a grand total of $1850.

Before the upgrading computer issue comes up I will knock it down by saying this. I can build a computer right now that can game pretty well for $600-800 and throw $200-300 at it every 3 years and still be ahead.

Here is where I totally agree with you somenamehere. Everyone has a pre-build computer a home and worst of all is people often buy 600, 800, 1000$ pre-built computers that have video cards such as HD 5650 when we all know we can squeeze a HD 6950 now days in a 800$ build by cheaping into an AMD PHII x4 and not so fancy case. (50-70$). Console gaming is way more expensive. I think the real difference is the fact you can play @ four people on 1 TV and it's more "social" + add the network effect. I buy the xbox 360 because my friends has it and play Black Ops on it (Which I did, I regret, my friends are retarded on that point lol)

I don't think this is good news. It's just fact of the matter. Consoles won't be able to scale those maps, graphically, at all. Good thing I have a PC.

Wow, I never accounted for their regular PC , when I have argued with console gamers about it being cheaper or at least equal. Wow PC really does have them beat more than I thought.

You forgetting the fact that if you want to enjoy your games on that said console you will need to shell out some serious cash for a good TV, in the end, the price to build a 1200 PC breaks ever, but with PC you get things like anti aliasing, and other settings, and most times can turn off that BLUR, BLUR BLUR and in place resolutions console players get.

Console players just mad cause PC is styling on them, at all times.
