I have seen a number of people saying that DX10 in Crysis made a big difference, so I'm just trying to set that straight.

I don't care about the version of DirectX used. If it was DX9 only but looked noticeably better than the original, that would be good enough for me. The original Crysis has already demonstrated that amazing graphics -- the best to date -- can be done on only DX9.
DX10 in Crysis always Very High Spec which you could hack in DX9 so in short not much difference. I hope that is the case here were there is another level of detail with DX10/11 in Crysis 2. I think Crytek want sales this time and does not want people to complain that they cant run in DX11. Once people enjoy it as a game and a very good story, MP then they will give you the graphics which you can play with your GPUs.

+1 for the interviewer

Also I like how the dude avoided the "why do you think no one used Cryengine 2 in games?" question.

The interview was good, but of course they are not going to admit CE2 was hard to develop with.

The PC version with everything maxed out is literally....
You can't max out everything when there is only one option.

I also enjoyed how he avoided the questions. And the only exclusive to PC is Dedi servers since Higher Res textures or hardware scaling are NOT FEATURES.

The DX11 Patch might never come out for all we know. People already payed their 60 bucks, lol.

The first part of the video is about the PC version.

"We are not making a console game and bringing it to PC" - Nathan Camarillo

Crysis is generic and boring to people who definitely lack imagination and creativity.

Some like is clean and more simple.

Doesn't really matter as long as your happy. It's just a preference.

Maybe the reason with no "real" PC uber settings is that CryTek doesn't want consolers significantly getting the short end of the stick (or at least CryTek doesn't want them to feel too much of it).. It probably won't bode well for the efforts/funds/capital for contracting consolitis.

They'd probably release "uber" features exclusive to pcs later on and will base from the overall Crysis 2 sales. Maybe when enuf console game sales.

I'm still buying it, but I'm not satisfied.
And this is the exact reason PC game devs will continue to get away with these shortcomings.

I thought that C1 was allot of fun, the graphics were something else, and the gameplay although a lttle generic was allot of fun.
C2 from waht i have scene so far is a bit of a dissapointment, the demo made me retract my preorder an wait till something more fun came out (BF3 xD), anyway as TimAHH said on page one, we cant make a final judgement till release date ( I know its out in NA)

I can understand that people have their own opinions but I don't get where people can think that Crysis 1's gameplay was generic. Lets compare it to Half-Life 2 for instance.

While HL2 offers ZERO chance at stealth and ZERO deviation from the set path, it does pace the story better and provide downtime on the action, with physics puzzles, so you don't get burnt out. Not only that but there's an art to using the nano suit. It takes timing.

The only thing I can see where someone would come to this conclusion is if they just armored up and blew up everything in sight. You can sneak past them and not even deal with enemies most times or you can stealth kill them 1 by 1. As much as I love the Hl2 series, you're never given an option against the combine except full-on assault.
