Mom wants me to get a completely silent keyboard

Thread Starter
Any suggestions? The quieter the better, as well as cheaper the better (though not fall-apart-after-a-week cheap).

Would prefer it to have media center macro keys, but not required at all. Size doesn't really matter, but I do not like squished designs, prefer a full keyboard with a keypad...

Edit: For the smart-ass/non keyboard related answers: I live in a 1-ROOM house right now. That means, a kitchen, a living room, and a bathroom. I type louder than my computer fans (which I had to unplug most of due to complaints) as well as disconnect all the little LED's I possibly could on it. She is now complaining my keyboard is much too loud, so I am asking about a replacement. Not suggestions like closing my (non-existent) bedroom door, moving to the basement, drowning out the noise with other noise, etc.

Thank you to those that have given proper answers, looking into them right now.

my lycosa was very quiet due to its shallow key design. plus it had those cool touch screen media keys. I used it for 6 months and now my father has been using it for over a year. Haven't seen a single worn key or anything.

I know id personally try to mod a mx black keyboard with some thin foam or rubber to prevent bottoming out though tongue.gif

What keyboard are you currently using?

It's quite hard to find a completely silent keyboard. A lot of it is to do with how hard you type on the keys.

I don't think a keyboard cover would work for me atleast, I am constantly removing my hand from they keyboard. And yes, this keyboard IS fairly quiet, it's mostly the spacebar that makes most of the noise...

And at the person who said they would mod it with foam or rubber: I would do that with this keyboard if I didn't want to use this as an excuse to get a better keyboard, which I might end up putting foam or rubber on anyways devil.gif (not really liking the wireless part, starting to notice the input lag, and the receiver is really short-ranged on this thing).

Not possible, there's only 2 doors in the current place I'm living, the front door and the bathroom door.
