Make a sound proof box, put your keyboard in it, make holes on one side for you hands to go in, and type.

Edit- the projector keyboard above is actually pretty cool.

We have some similar to this on one of the on-campus dining places so they can be washed easily. Just fine for web browsing, no way in hell I would game with one.

As for scissor switches, I find them to be just as loud as my Deck, though it's a different noise that may be more or less irksome. Don't get anything that costs a significant amount of money unless you really want it for yourself, because you'll probably still annoy the others no matter what you end up with.
Well, scissors would be a good idea, but do they have them in a full keyboard layout instead of the super-cramped style I've seen most of them in? Thanks for the suggestions though, handing out lots of rep.

Ah, figures. Good thing I haven't started handing out rep yet then.

That's a problem. Ty to who suggested it though.

That would be an epic keyboard to have, purely for the amusement value. I remember the news thread you got this from, but I believe it was just a prototype/concept design was it not?

Personally I found my Lycosa to be the most silent keyboard I have owned.
Though I hated it, it was quiet.

Oh wow, sadly a bit expensive for something that would be hard to use practically, or atleast hard to game with.

EDIT: Another vote for the lycosa then.

If you go to Amazon and type 'scissor switch keyboard,' several options will show up. Have a look around and see if there's anything you like. If possible, find the same model in a local store and take your housemates with you to listen and make sure they're all right with the choice before you spend money.
