800D dual PSU mod ideas

Thread Starter
I'm looking at TEC cooling for m 800D, which leaves me in a little trouble for poitioning of the second PSU.

Moving to a HAF 932 is always an option with the dual PSU support, but I'd rather mod my current case.

Anybody got some ideas for where I could position it? I'll be modding the PSU most likey anyway, so to a certain extent, the PSU's dimensions can bel fiddled with.

And of course with the second PSU, I'll need to start thinking about a second (insulated) liquid loop & where to put that...

Any thoughts welcome, here's a pic of my current setup, though a lot will have to move:

You can notch the midplate and rear panel and turn then on edge and put them in the normal area, or lose the bottom HDD cage and put one up there. There was a mod of an 800D to support an MM motherboard tray-SR2-quad480 SLI, that I believe ran dual PSU; I'm not sure of the log but I remember it detailing the second PSU location. I believe they put it up front.

I was thinking the same thing. So long there is venting cut on both side panels for PSU airflow, I would try to put them side by side.

Alternatively, you could cut the mid plate, and stack them. Leave the one you have now right where it is, and put another on top with the fan facing into the case. The downside here is that it would be venting heat up into the case - defeating the purpose of having the PSU in a seperate compartment. But with enough airflow through the case that shouldn't be a big issue.

I was thinking of removing the bottom HDD cage, but it looks like a pretty hard mod : /

I was also considering adding a section to the top & externally mounting the radiator.
