combapability for my new build

Thread Starter
so ive recently decided to build my next gaming pc, i have around $1500 to spend and im pretty happy with what ive come up with so far. im just not overly sure if it will all be compatable so if anyone could give me a few pointers that would be great. here are the specs anyway:

tower: cooler master HAF 932
hard drive: something SATA maybe the 250g from my current pc
motherboard: EVGA x58 classified 4-way SLI
cpu: i7-950 quad core @ 3.06gz
RAM: kingston hyperx 3x2gb 240 pin tri channel sd 1600
power: diablotek rpm series 950w
graphics: radeon sapphire 100312SR HD 2gb 256bit
water cooling for the cpu, i havnt decided on a brand yet.

im planning to run xp so i can play some older games aswell.
and can i run more than one of the sapphire graphic cards and should i just go with a bigger power supply if i plan to do this sometime in the future?
so yeah thats it, any help will be greatly apreciated, thanks for reading =D

Go with the Corsair TX750W, that is one hell of a PSU.... If you need more Wattage go with the TX950.

Edit: you probably wont need to go with anything more than 850.... the TX750 would do fine. If you end up running 4 video cards then go with the TX950

I would get a Samsung Spinpoint F3 or F4 1TB or a Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB. I believe all of the hard drives I've stated have SATA 6.0GB/s compatability (also known as SATA III, not 3.0GB/s). For the PSU, I would go get an Enermax, Seasonic, or Corsair. I don't know what the 100312SR is but I think you got the SKU. I would get a 6950 and unclock it. If you're going to watercool this system, you might want a little more than just the CPU or else its not worth it. I would say get an H70. Fairly easy to install. Its an all in one. Its from corsair/asetek. CoolIT is good too.

Please, do yourself a favor and ditch the diablotek, go with Corsair, Silverstone or Seasonic... unless you want to feel the pain of roasting your whole setup. Also invest in a Spinpoint or a WD caviar black 1TB if you got the money... that 250gb will fill up so fast, you won't see it coming.

As for the rest, just like the other guy said, your gpu will be a 2gb 6950 so you'll just have to unlock it but be careful and don't forget that there is no garantee of stability with this process.

Corsair TX750W or Corsair 750HX. TX isn't modular, but HX is modular. May i ask why you aren't going sandy bridge route for gaming?

thanks for the advice, corsair it is for power supply, i live in a fairly hot place so heat is going to be an issue for me. im really new to this building so im going to do a bit of research into what sandy bridge means. i will go with the 6950, it has good reviews and is a little cheaper than the one i was planning to use. one other thing, what does unlocking the graphics card mean?

Im not sure, I havent looked at the specs of the Diablotek, go with the safer brand-name (Corsair).

So far what I heard of diablotek isn't even close to be a "bad quality" brand... they are just... terrible. Don't forget that if you skimp on the PSU, you might end up having MUCH bigger problems.

Very true, I skimped on my psu, (sig) and I should have gone with the TX750W, you want a psu with good wattage and a single 12v rail that gives out good amperage. (If that makes sense) My psu has 4 12v rails. For gaming you want 1 12v rail and good output amperage, in terms the TX750 or TX950.
