First gamer, 3d design and OC, Build, please help =)

Thread Starter
HI guys in some days I will buy a pc for games, 3d design and enter in the OC world =).

I have all most selected but I want a 2nd (or more) points of view =)

ok this is:

CPU: i7 2600K ( I want it at 4.5 or more )

CPU cooler: I´m between the Corsair H70, the Zalman CNPS9900MAX and the Silver arrow... I like the two firsts on meaning of space, I dont want become furious becouse the RAM modules dont fit =S, Noise is not a problem for me so wich one do you recomend me? ( the pc will be on 24/7 and with OC so..wich is the best choise?)

Motherboard: ASUS Saberthoot p67 or P67 EVGA SLI (if it gets launched)(any other suggestion for this?) (i want a mobo with dual SLI-Corssfire and if its posible with dedicated Physx pci port)(not 20 pci 16x haha =) )

VGA: HD 6990 or the GTX 590 if price is not above 800$ =)

RAM: Here im in troubles... Which is better on OC?: Latency, or capacity?(not bandwidth) these are the option:
RipjawsX Series 1600 4gb (2X2) 6-8-6-24 1.5v
Corsair Vengeance 1600 8 GB (2x4) 9-9-9-24 1.5v (or similar)
I work with large images and big 3d designs... wich of two above its better for me?

HDD: Western Digital 2 TB Caviar Black SATA 6GB/s 7200 RPM 64 MB Cache (no enough cash for an SSD dedicated OS =( maybe in a future)

Optical: Samsung Blu-Ray Internal SATA Drive with Lightscribe 12x

PSU: In a future I will add another HD 6990 or Gtx 580 so I want to purchase a PSU that can handle 2 of them... I selected two but I´m open to observations =):
1220W Kingwin MACH1 ( dont know too much about this maker)
1000W NZXT HALE90 (I dont know if it is sufficient for 2 monsters =S)

Case: NZXT Phantom ( I fall in love with this one =) )

ok thats all, I hope you guys can help me in my indecisions =)

thanks in advance =)

PD:sorry for my poor/bad English =)

HSF (CPU Cooler):
I'd normally recommend the Silver Arrow or Noctua NH-D14, as they will keep your chip cooler, but if you want a bit more space I recommend the H70 and a pair of good fans.
Motherboard:
ASRock P67 Extreme4 or Asus P8P67 Pro. Both are great boards.
RAM:
It sounds as though you'll need 8GB. I'd go with a set of these or these, depending on how much you're willing to spend.

Case: Perfect
HDD: I'd go with 2* 1TB Samsung spinpoint F3
CPU cooler: Noctua NH-D14
GPU: That's on you, but I'd stick with the 580. I'm pretty sure when 590 comes out, it will be around $700+.
Mobo: I'd go with Sabertooth P67 B3, if you don't need all the other fancy features other boards have.

Sorry for not answer before the internet service was down

thisischuck01:
Thnx for the help =D

Can you assure me that if I install the Silver Arrow with the Asus p8p67 PRO I dont need to worry about the RAM fitting? =S also, the Silver Arrow fit on the NZXT phantom?

On the Ram issue... well, both are in the Budget so wich one do you advice me?
Thnx for the help =D

Rabbs:

Right now I need more Space than velocity and for the bad pc that I already have, I know that I do not notice about HDD Speed so I will pick 2 of this:

I resently saw that Nvidia is launching the Kepler Tech on march 24 so I think I will buy "just" a gtx 580 and then, when kepler will on sale, I will buy the most kickass GPU to forget about buying for at least 3 years =).
Is this good? what would you do in my place?

Also other Question... which PSU I should pick? any recommendation on builders?

thnx guys for the help =)

If you get a set of Ripjaws, you should have just enough space. The RAM heatsinks may actually touch the CPU HSF, however this won't be an issue.
If you get a Silver Arrow or NH-D14 you will probably have to remove the side panel 230mm fan.

Personally, I'd go with this kit, as they have lower timings.

A GTX 580 should last you for 3 years.
I'd go with an EVGA GTX 580, and then try to use the EVGA Step-Up program when the GTX 6xx series comes out.

Are you planning on doing a lot of upgrading in the future? With your current set-up, you would be fine with a 650W PSU.

thisischuck01 thnx dude for the help! =)
I will search in forum if the cooler fits on phantom =)

I don´t think that the Step Up program is avaible on my country (Bolivia) so its not an option...

I guess I´ll go for the HD 6990 or GTX 590, taxes for single products are too High, buy a GPU in a future its not an option =(.

PSU... well. yeah in a begining I wanted a HD 9990 Crossfire X (first 1 and then other 1) but I don´t have cash for 2 right now. and buy in a future its not an option because of taxes...(A single HD9990 its about 1000$ with taxes and shipping costs...)
because of this I think I will go for a 850W only, any advice on this?

Yeah, it's only available in the US, Canada, and EU.

At full load, a Core i7 2600k overclocked to 4.8GHz consumes around 235W. The 6990, at full load, consumes around 340W. If you don't plan on upgrading any time soon, you should be fine with a 650W PSU.

I'd recommend the P8P67 Pro. It has all the features you need and will overclock just as high as the Sabertooth, but is quite a bit cheaper. Only go with the Sabertooth if you love the looks (or whatever) and are willing to pay quite a bit more for them.

For Physx, anything from a 8600GT to a GTX 580 will work.

Low-end: 9800GTX+/GTS 250
Mid-grade: GTS 450/GTX 460 (I'd recommend one of these, if you can afford it)
High-end: GTX 570/GTX 580
