dual gtx 480's to gtx 590 or ati 6990?

I am going to sell both of my gtx 480's with installed water blocks. Do you think its worth it to get a gtx 590 or ati 6990? And which should I get if I do it.
EDIT: I also plan on buying a water block for the new card if I decide to upgrade.

6990 for HD gaming madness over 1080p..else wait for GTX590 first then decide whichever you like..

I do not think it is worth it.
Performance wise, you will not see substantial improvement.
Thermal wise, you already have the two GTX480s watercooled.

But if you have that upgrade itch, I can understand.
To scratch it, I suggest you upgrade your 'tiny' 21.5'' HP 2159m monitor to a 27'' (eg Dell U2711) or 30'' (eg Dell U3011). Doing this will bring immediate and substantial improvement to your gaming (and others) experience. And it will also do justice to your pair of GTX480s.

nah it's not worth it......especially if yours are already watercooled......SLIed 480s should be enough for everything......heck, i sometimes think even one is enough for like 90% of the games......i'm about to go SLI 480s in a few days, but only because i got a really good deal on 2 more 22in Asus monitors, and i really want to try out 5040x1050 for some 2D surround

What's the point of upgrading, you can pretty much max out everything with 480's SLI'ed. Heck, I'd love to have 2 480's

With only 1 monitor you will have nothing close to stress your 2 480s.

If you are going for 2D surround that's a different story, 2 480s are sometimes not enough. I would suggest TriSLI for 2D surround.

http://www.guru3d.com/article/geforce-gtx-590-sli-review/

Ok so here's my conundrum and I hope someone can review this issue soon:

I have 2 480's in sli and just wondering if I should buy a 3rd or sell them and buy a 590. I have a tri monitor setup (3 x acer 1920x1080) and just wondering how they will scale as the 480's will have 3x1500mb of ram as opposed to just the 3000 of the 590.

I know this is somewhat of a ludicrous setup anyway but i should be running into some cash to burn soon and just wondering what people think.

http://www.guru3d.com/article/geforce-gtx-480-3way-sli-review/

Take a look at this and you will see with 3 monitors, 3-way sli scaling is superb, as good as from single 480 to 2-way sli.

We should see the most with tri-sli, although I'm still thinking if I should drop the 480 SLi and go with 580 SLI to get higher clock.

Going with 590 3GB is the same as 480 1.5GB in terms of Vram, 590 is basically 2 GF110 chips in SLI, so same as our 480s, the Vram is mirroring each other, meaning the 3GB should see as 1.5GBX2 in SLI. No difference as our current config. for Vram usage.

The bottomline, go with tri-sli if your PSU can provide enough amps.

I think so!!!!

http://www.hardwareheaven.com/reviews/712/pg1/enermax-revolution-85-1250w-power-supply-introduction.html

Also, will there be much of a decrease using 16x 8x 8x pci-e slots for tri 480's as my mobo is a Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R Motherboard Rev2?
