Maximus IV Extreme Problem or something else? - Page 2

Well it seems the C1E was not the reason. I've had a freeze this weekend with C1E off...

I have a new suspect though:

This may be a total coincidence, however the only slightly "unusual" think I did shortly before the freeze was to create a backup using Acronis True Image 2011 for which I had to re-enable the Acronis Scheduling2 service that I had disabled some time ago thinking that I do not need it... (Weirdly even unscheduled backups seem to require it.)

I have turned off the service again and I'll try to run for a week or so without a freeze before trying to turn it back on again as a sort of test to see if I can get some more "evidence"...

I think I've solved my issue. I have been running with one stick of memory with no issues for the past 4 days. I ran with the other stick and had the same symptoms as before; so it seems I have a bad stick of memory.

Never had lockups like this from bad memory, but I guess it's possible? Anyways, I'm waiting to hear back from G.Skill
