Best (air-cooled) Full Tower Case

Thread Starter
This'll be my very fist custom case, so I'm kind of new to the whole computer case scene.

As the title suggest, I'm looking for full tower case that's the best when it comes to air cooling. I don't know what the pros and cons are to aluminum vs. plastic, but I do feel (literally) that aluminum is better quality. But I guess you guys are the pros, so I'll leave it up to you. Either or is fine. Whatever is cheaper I guess, as long as the pros don't outweigh the cons.

I don't care about hot-swappable bays, open case/see-through case, LED lights, etc.; all that extra ****. I just want the best cooling there is. Oh, and USB 3.0.

I'm willing to spend anywhere from $100-$225, preferably in the lower range. Best bang for my buck would be ideal.

Thanks in advance.

Hmm. I probably should have mentioned I want one with USB 3.0.

I was looking at the Obsidian 700D, and it looks pretty sexy. But I heard it's better for water cooling. So I guess that's out. =(

yes...700d and 800d are for watercooling mostly....the 650d just came out not to long ago...it is a mid-tower version that is well put together....little to no plastic

Every time I feel one of their cases, it feels flimsy and cheap. Maybe I'm just over-analyzing things? NZXT and Antec has some pretty flashy looking cases (IMO) for about the same price. But the truth is I hear good things about all of them.

That's the whole dilemma for me. Choosing one of these cases and decided which one is the best. There's a lot of damn options. I just wanna narrow down my choices to the top 5 or something.

The Silverstone FT02/RV02 perform better than anything mentioned in this thread by a decent margin, are built far better (Corsair is closer though), and are quieter.

They are marketed as a mid tower case, but that's only because of the retarded platform guidelines. These things are over 24" long, and about 20" tall. If those dimensions were reversed, it would be classified as a full tower. Any one who thinks of these cases as mid towers either has never seen one/can't comprehend basic measurements or is plain stupid.

Here is an FT02 lined up with a HAF 932. Note that the rears of the cases are lined up, and the 932's height "advantage" is mostly due to that retarded IO panel on top.

Note that the RV02 performs exactly the same as the FT02. Though they do not come with USB 3.0, its pretty simple to just get a 5.25" bay device with those ports.

best airflow/price I would recommend the Lancool PC-K62. I have the black one and I cannot speak more highly of it. I think the limitation occur with fitting rads etc.
