Witcher/Dragon Age DLC Steam?

Thread Starter
I bought Dragon Age Origins from Steam a while back. Steam only offers the DLC quests in there 'Ultimate Edition' pack. How do I get those DLC quests without having to buy the game twice.
Can I get them though Bioware and have them work with my Steam download. Also is it possible to just by the DLC from Steam?

You buy them directly from biowares site using bioware points...which I hate. I'm just waiting for the ultimate edition to go cheap and i'll buy it then.

I just don't get it. You can buy the Ultimate pack and get DLC. You can buy Origins and Awakening separately. But you can't get the DLC separately? tisk tisk Steam

already got the Witcher in a sale last year, thanks anyway. But yeah it's not steam's fault at all. Probably a choice by bioware to get more people going to there site.

So with Witcher I have seen a texture mod and hi res character mod out there. Is it safe to apply those to a Steam game?

Well bioware won't make as much money if the dlcs were bought through steam.

Bioware could clearly just charge Steam to help distribute the product. Seems like good business to me instead of just making it more of a hassle for the consumer.

i'm exactly on your side. I haven't bought any bioware dlc because of that. I don't like having to go through bioware's site just to get add-ons. I like all of my games and dlc in 1 place, and that's steam.

Regarding your earlier question, yes it's safe to put the mods for a steam game. i've played the witcher with 4 or 5 mods and finished it without any bugs or glitches.

The reason they are going this route because they wanted you to be able to buy all DLC ingame without having to type in anything nor confirm anything. To do this they had to use a "madeup" currency ala Bioware points.

So, instead of them charging your card (which they would have to give you a whole bunch of legal jargon in game and would ruin your immersion in the game. With Bioware points, they don't have to ask any of this. That's why they did it.
