Hybrid SSD? Any explantions?

as i was browsing SSD's online i come across something seagate calls a hybrid SSD, is anyone able to elaborate on what this is and how it works? And if possible give me some insight on how this performs against an ssd.

I believe it's a regular HDD with small amount of NAND chips in the same Enclosure, its only 4 gigs of NAND storage. but It's not enough to store windows 7 in it at all =(

all of the above. I have the 500GB on my XPS laptop....it works good. its like a 500gb HDD with a 4GB buffer lol

A side question, can a SSD be used in a raid config aka 2x 64gb SSD and would you even see a performance increase in doing that.
