I'd recommend getting a panasonic plasma. I've yet to see anything under 1000 match the picture quality on them.
I was wondering about plasma because i heard that viewing from side to side and below it the picture wont be taken away but with lcd it will if that makes sense ha.

ummm id say im about 10-13 feet from my bed to the wall, but also i might be mounting it up on the wall right below the ceiling so it would be up in the air above but still 10-13 feet away.

ill try and look up some of the panasonic plasmas thank you!

edit: looked up some and found this one what do you guys think pros an cons anything

You want to make them LED Backlit screens. Not Cold Cathodes.

It's pretty irrelevant with plasma televisions. They really only benefit LCD's by allowing them to have contrast ratios closer to those of plasmas.

for your viewing distance and placement a 42-50" 720p plasma would be great

Samsung PN42C450 Plasma 720p set can be had for about $450 at the moment. I picked up one for my nephew and picture quality is wonderful for a 720p set.

Does the quality of 720p get bad past like 41 inch ? An after a certin point like 41 should I be only looking at 1080p

i personally like plasma more the LCDs because Plasmas have better picture, colors and motion. I own 3 samsung LCDs (55 inch 120hz, 40 inch 60hz and 26 inch 60hz) and 1 42 inch LG plasma and i like my LG plasma more. For the 720p, it is a problem for the future but at the moment nothing is 1080p. Xbox and HD television (hd cable or satellite) are both 720p at the moment and wont change for probably the next 5 years. Also the LG plasma is 50 inches so its a huge difference compared to the 46 and 40 inch LCDs

over budget, but I have the "120hz" version of this, and its just like I said, an awesome all around TV.
sweet but If you want size go with a plasma it you want crystal clear get a samsung LCD. Just bouht a samsung plasma and they are pretty descent. You xan get a 51'' 720p samsung plasma for 719.99 at best buy it would would great on your xbox 360
