Console is to blame for all this. They water down all our games with crap graphics and us PC games suffer due to xbox360 nerds with there stupid headset and they think the graphics are amazing on xbox. How stupid!

It's not consoles that are to blame for this, it is the fact that the PC gaming market for the vast majority of consumers is consuming, expensive and full of headache. Just because you are wiling to diagnose the issues that come with having different settings for different subsets of gaming hardware doesn't mean your average college kid, or your average young adult is willing to spend the same kind of time and effort into doing the same when they can get a 300 dollar console that will perform within 90% of most PC's out there.

The PC gaming market may not be shrinking, but it takes a certain level of diligence and appreciation of performance for performance's sake that drives people to buy multiple graphics cards, overclock their hardware and do extensive research on the subjects (the learning curve is fairly intimidating for most consumers).

Wow, seriously? I mean, Crysis 1 shipped with DX10 and they're going backwards?

Crysis 3 in DX8, anyone?

Well written post if you ask me. Elmo pretty much sums it up.

No big surprise here.
Crysis was made first for PC. Bold new technology! Only a handful of systems could run it.
Then the console companies whined and wanted a version of Crysis on the consoles.
Then when a watered down Crysis came to the consoles.
The console companies said "HEY! Don't make for PC anymore! PC gamers are all pirates! the real money is in consoles! If you make for PC you will lose money"

Crytec gave in.. and many other followed.

That's why you will never see Crysis 2 or ANY PC game using DX11 or better. Nowadays you will never play a nicer game that is more powerful than a 5 year old XBOX.
Pirating? Explain why Console games are $60 and up, whereas PC titles are usually $20 cheaper.
It's not pirating, that drives up the cost of Console games, it's GREED!

Console makers are the reason your top-of-the-line PC can only rock benckmarks.
Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo are all laughing at you and the money you sink into your PC.
Console companies WANT PC gamers to fail, and know they will by using the "pirating" defense.
Everyone that owns a PC should rise up and never buy a console, but this will never happen.

I hope it gets the patch soon, it already looks amazing though. Runs perfectly on my SLI setup too.

The single player campaign is fun and exciting, so a bad game it is not, but dx9? really?

a 2007 game has dx10, but a 2011 game is dx9?

on top of that, WHERE IS MY SANBOX EDITOR?

your telling me the leaked beta had more features than a full retail game i spent my hard earned money one?
