What is the best graphics card? - Page 2

Any top-o-the-line cards will bottleneck on that CPU, and bad. You should overclock that. A lot. And even then, the best GPUs will still be bottlenecked, unless you're playing at some absurd resolution.

Of course, they will still be an upgrade.

Which is a great lead into the next question, what resolution are you playing at? Along with wasted potential due to a CPU bottleneck, if you are playing at a low res "the best" GPU will go wasted

At 1280x960, even my 9600 GSO 512 could max out most games, without AA. Needless to say, my GTX 460 is bottlenecked, but I fold and got it for less than a GTS 450, so it's ok.

Lol! If it is an OEM, I wonder if his case will fit these 11" inch + cards.

What PSU as well? Add your specs: http://www.overclock.net/specs.php

Like everyone said... your CPU will bottleneck on $250+ cards.
Once again...

Sorry, should have been more clear, was aiming my question towards the OP

Thread Starter
It is a Dell indeed. I simply don't have the skills to 'build' my own.

And regarding resolution? I honestly don't know, I've always just played at what feels comfortable

Maybe around 1920x1080x60 Hertz? That's what it says on my system info.

And could you explain Fold?

And how do you Overclock?

And if my case doesn't fit the 11" cards? How do I make them fit?

And I'd like to know the step down cards from these top of the line ones, to have a back up plan if my parents chicken out!

Dell OEM pc? Pretty sure it's a locked bios and you can't overclock.

Anything over an ATI HD5770 (guesstimate) would bottleneck.
