Returning U2410, is this a mistake?

The U2410 is a great monitor don't get me wrong, but I'm having some issues with it.

I'm using it mostly for gaming and multi-tasking, and I'm not too sure about the wide gamut. Most of the colors are great, but the reds do look a bit off I gotta say.

From what I understand, games use sRGB and not a wide gamut color space, and, depending on the game, wide color gamut can make colors look washed out etc.

My concern is that when I'm using the wide gamut for games, things that would normally be a deep red, will be closer to a pink red, or a purple red.

Thankfully, Dell did include a sRGB mode, which makes everything look normal, but their "game mode" is still wide gamut. This means that when I use sRGB to get appropriate color in games, I don't get the reduced input latency. Its something like 33ms with sRGB, and 14ms with "game mode", which is an extended color space (and looks a bit off).

Unfortunately, theres no way (as far as I know) to manually change the colors to appear more accurate in "game mode", so I have to either live with high input latency, or wonky color.

What would be an alternative? Is it possible to change colors in "game mode"? if so, how?

Do you actually feel the difference in input latency?

It depends on what you are planning to replace it with?
I use Adobe RGB just fine. What games are you playing that you need to save 5-10ms on?

Only when I turn on vSync.

And even then its not so bad. The thing is, if I'm only going to use sRGB mode, I might as well spend $100 less and grab the ZR24W.

Also, I'm considering the Asus PA246Q.

It's using P-IPS, but there are no reviews out on it yet. I can get it for $460.00

Don't know what P-IPS is, but S/H-IPS are proven panels, anything other than that i.e. e-IPS has tinting or color issues. I had a U2711, 3007s and I like the U2410 a lot. If you can truly save $100 then get the ZR22W. I wouldn't even consider ASUS for an IPS panel.

How come? they use the same panel that Dell uses on their high ends.

Seriously check this thing out.

Also, the games I notice it on a lot are any games with LOTS of color. For example, the reds in WoW look pink.

Its not a pink tint or anything, its just because it doesn't use a wide gamut color space.

Hmmm, I believe with their warranty they have a "zero" dead pixel policy with their IPS line, such as your u2310. At least I had that with my monitor(s).

Also, did you run any of the 2-4 color calibration tests/software that is suggested on any monitor review site?
