Nothing beats the iPad industrial design though. I'm not a Apple fanboy or anything but I just don't like how Samsung designs their products. Personally I think the HTC Flyer and the Nook Color looks better compared Samsung's offering.

You do realized iPad isn't made in America? I think someone mentioned economies of scale but Apple will have the advantage since they will probably manufacture more iPads compared to Galaxy Tabs to satisfy the bigger market and demand. And no to cheaper labor since both iPad and Galaxy Tab are made in some Chinese or Taiwanese sweatshop. And I don't think a huge multi national company like Samsung can get away with patent theft (when both companies probably have huge legal and compliance departments scrutinizing their competitor's products looking for patent breaches) and sell the product in America. It's probably Samsung who is losing more money than Apple.

U got that wrong mate. Samsung has it own manufacture faculty in South Korea and most Samsung products is believed to be made there including the tab.

And this only reinforces the idea that Apple has higher profit margins on tablet sales. Apple can just export their manufacturing to China or Taiwan with no minimum wage laws and pay their workers $0.80 an hour whereas Samsung will have to abide by South Korean government minimum wage standards... and that's if Galaxy Tabs are made in Korea which I doubt.

And you're wrong, Samsung has a lot of Chinese and Mexican factories so they can also use unethical slave labor. You really think one of the biggest corporations in the world won't use slave labor?

this is true

I mentioned economies of scale
Apple has a bigger advantage in that area, though I think Samsung does have an advantage as well.
They make their own SoC's, unless its Tegra 2, they can make NAND flash, they make their own LCD's etc

There is one thing bothering me about Samsung at the moment, and it has nothing to do with these tablets which are so tempting I can't stop looking at them .

I don't understand why they didn't use Nvidia's Tegra 2 chips in their new Samsung Galaxy S II phones, and decided to use their own inferior processing chip? They would've sold a lot more, and improved upon and already great phone the Galaxy S.

Ah I guess I am just too impressed by the Tegra 2 chips I still wish June would get here faster. Samsung 10.1 inch Galaxy Tabs, Bulldozer, damn what more could a tech junkie want

i'm guessing because if they want to use Tegra2 they have to buy licensing rights or something.....and maybe making their own chip is more "profitable"

I'm more interested in the 8.9 Tab lol
perfect size, me don't like 10"er's

In my opinion, the Samsung and Apple designs are around the same, perhaps Apple is ahead a bit ahead with mechanical quality.

What I hope is that this Tab isn't delayed again or else it'll push it too close to the iPad 2's successor's announcement date. I mean, the cellular versions are TBA so I think it's cutting it a bit fine.

I generally don't respond to those who lack the ability to discuss without namecalling, but yeah you don't know what your talking about.

I'm going to wait until the quad-core Tegra 3's are released.
