Boot problem with p8p67 LE - Page 2

it is just so disheartening especially when you spend hundreds of dollars into a new build....ha ha i was so sad it was doing that. The sad thing is it makes it seems like your overclocks are unstable when they really aren't.

Sometimes if it does more than 2 times powering on and off you will get an error saying "system has received boot failures due to overclocking," which is not the case AT ALL, then sometimes since the problem persists you will get the disk check before you enter windows because the system thinks something is wrong with your data drives ha ha
glad we figured it out !

OH MAN. THANK YOU SO MUCH

Just did a rebuild yesterday and for some reason this started happening. I almost broke down and cried when I couldn't figure it out. Will give it a shot when I get home from work!

Okay so I went home and tried this. Still to no avail. It did seem to fix the problem temporarily. But I now run into a problem when my computer goes to sleep. It sleeps, when I want to wake up I hit power, powers up and powers down within 1 (almost instant) then boots but does not post, I simply get a black screen. If I hold the power down to turn it off, then turn back on it resumes fine.

As well, one thing I noticed, changing the bios settings, (non-advanced) to Asus Optimal seems to bring the problem back even with PLL Overvoltage disabled.

The only things I changed before this started happening was my PSU and CPU cooler. The cpu cooler has been reseated to avoid overtightening of screws, and to make sure it is flush. Temps are 25c at idle and between 45-50 under load, and I was able to run Prime95 for around 20 minutes with no errors (did not have time for a longer test will do tonight, just wanted to make sure my PC wasn't that unstable) Have not noticed a performance hit though! Simply wonky boots.

As far as the PSU goes, I thought that was the original problem, took it back, swapped it out, same problem. Really the only setting that has changed is that my PSU was bumped from 520W to 850W. and the CPU cooler, but temps and performance seems to be okay so I don't think that is the problem.

ALSO (I swear this is the last thing!) I ran memtest and all 3 sticks checked out. Have them in dimms A1 A2 and B1.

Thanks in advance to anyone who may be able to rescue my disheartened self from this CATASTROPHIC inconvenience wink.gif

*edit: After work I am going to move the memory to slots A2 B1 and B2, reset CMOS, and reflash the BIOS. (not all at once lol)
