I'm assuming that makes a big difference because the argument seems to be based around 1600P.
TBH I'm not sure why we're talking about 1600p either. Going by Ams' sig he plays at 1080p anyway.

As newer and newer games come out, will they utilize that extra 280mbs of VRAM even at 1080P? Or only at a higher Res?
At 1080p, not likely, unless you mod them out with extra high res texture packs. The extra 96 cuda cores will certainly help though! Decisions decisions.

Booty,

I would imagine part of your posting in my recent 560/570 threads is a little biased to promote your own decision to buy the 560. And that's cool with me. I appreciate your active posts in my two threads and your thoughtful responses backed up with data. So what I'm trying to say is "thanks" ^_^

Anybody able to find numbers on a 560 @ 950 vs a 570 @ 850? I am very curious about that comparison. Course it would require an identical test rig...

I was confused too! I thought we're talking about 1080p b/w the 560 and 570. The gap b/w the two are minimal.

Dude, have you seen Amstech posts? He defend the 570 like his life depend on it. Right Amstech? Just kidding... smile.gif

There are a lot of bias opinion and this will never change. Hey even my opinion is bias. If anything, I say return the 570 and get the 6950 instead. Why? cuz I own it. Does that make me bias? Maybe, but I offer better suggestion on something I own through personal experience. Same goes for Booty Warrior and Amstech. Lets say 560<6950<570. 560 being the cheapest out of the three. "IF" the 560 can attain 580 performance by overclocking then wouldn't it be a better buy? Hell yea! Both 6950 and 570 are in the same ball park as the 580 when they're overclock. Again, "if" all three card can achieve 580 performance w/ a price difference of $80-$100+ which one would you pick?

Try to find different benchmark regarding the 560 ti vs a 570. If the performance at 1080p range from 5-10fps with the difference of $50+ then it's not worth it IMO. Though the 570 will guarantee you a better performance overall period. I don't think you're interesting in ATI/AMD so I'll just leave that out.

Correct I dont want ATI.

Also, I'm not sure why you are referring to the 560 overclocking to 580 perf. Nothing I have seen put the 560 SOC any higher than stock 570.

Clearly a 560 that could clock to 580 perf would be a no brainer. But that doesn't exist.

And I wasnt criticizing Booty for being biased. I just said "I assume he's biased", which is fine in my book. Clearly he thinks the 560 is awesome, it's what he bought!

Ya know, I always thought the 560 could come close to it. So many people brag about the overclock potential on this card. Hmm, I guess it's just all talk.

You're absolutely right, an overclock 560ti can only reach the 570 stock or beat it by a little bit.

EDIT: Wrong benchark. Below should be the correct bench.

I expected more out of the 560 with that price range.

Gaining $100 in performance is a REALLY nice overclock...

Taking a $250 560 to the performance of a $350 570 is pretty amazing.

Haha, I'm just offering all the perspective I can. My own GPU setup is a bit unique since I play at 1440p, but it doesn't really have much bearing here as I'm not actually arguing for or against either. Just offering up the facts!

The 570 certainly isn't a waste at 1080p. It's not really a "value" buy, but enthusiast cards never are really (neither is the 560 atm honestly).
Any card will do good, try the 570 since it's already bought. Overclock it and enjoy it. If you don't still want it you can return it. It only takes a few hours to see how nice these cards really are. It's not like you have to return it right away (if you haven't canceled the order already).
