I've borrowed this from a friend to try before I bought it, and trying it put me off it completely, you spend ages trying to get a server to get into one and be kicked as they all go down or something odd like that. They have removed piles of functionality from the servers now as well due to them going down so often, its not even very well rounded off, it all feels a little buggy and rushed.

I'd say the fact that its noticably rushed will have destroyed their sales for anyone who reads reviews or has a friend who got it before them (it appears to be rushed from very beginning!)

Best buy let me return it because I said I was unhappy which was surprising considering that they don't do returns on games. Was not that fun in all.

well it was something other than another cliche about how Russia is invading and USA wins YAY!!!!!

i liked the idea, but it did seem rushed.

I am really, really disappointed in this game. I feel like I was trolled by the developers on this one, I mean really. They tried to portray a compelling and dramatic storyline with a game wrapped in a Call Of Duty skin, with no emphasis bringing anything fresh to the table. I think the most dramatic part of the game was in the beginning when the parents were killed in front of their child, THAT'S IT! After that you just hopped aboard the roller coaster, it really felt like it too. I didn't think I was at the end of the game and BOO credits. I was really hoping this game would've brought the FPS genre out of it's COD rut.

1. "compelling storyline" wrapped in Call of Duty skin
2. 7 missions that were shorter than Black
3. ?????

this ^ haven't played the PC version cuz to me it looked like a console game played it at my friends house was pretty fun. only played MP not singleplayer, i read ign's review and was outraged on how they bashed it for how short it was and how bad it looked and thats all they had to complain about and gave it a 7 while giving black ops a 9 even know black ops is SHORT and REALLY UGLY on consoles and on PC a bit better looking but im comparing the 2 console reviews. i know ign is really bad but that just amazes me how brand effects scores more then anything that and they probably get paid for reviews

if the single player was 15 hours long we would have all bloody RAVED about it, however it was 4 hours long.... on hardest and looking for all that crap

I'm really not surprised. From what I gathered, it seemed sort of like an art game: great idea, but not much thought given to the gameplay.

IMO, it is better than BLOPS in every aspect. I mean every aspect. To get a lower score is completely ludicrious!! It shows that reviews are bought in one way or another. Either directly, through advertising dollars, or by threatening the reviewers ability to go to preview events.

My problem with Homefront single player is the pacing. The game just "Plays way too fast for its atmosphere.

Here we are in a post apocalyptic america, instead of them slowing down the game (like Metro 2033) they speed it up (like Call of duty) and you never get the feeling of this depressing world because there are constantly explosions and stuff going on that the setting never really sinks in. What they should have down was slowed the game down several notches and made the game-play much more reliant on stealth like tactics (to give off the survival aspect of the story) not the commando "invincible solider" crap they went for.

They should have focused on making the characters much more likeable (like boone) so that you felt attached to them. the girl was just plain annoying and the other Guy was a jerk.

The saddest part about homefront is that it already had enough maps and characters to make it a good long and enjoyable experience. But the developers rushed you through the Maps with gun-2-head linearity and that killed the game for me.

Back on topic- i hope the game sells well, i'd love to see a sequel with a more flushed out story and better more polished gameplay
