You can xfire 5770+5750
...or 5850+5870

I don't think you can xfire a 5770+5870 without spoofing the .inf
(and would you really want a 5870 to run @ 5770 clocks? lol)

This is not true as i have two 480's in sli and i have one at 850core ,1641 shader and 1900 ram and the other at 850 core 1700 shader and 2000 ram and my system is working perfectly with a heaven bench 2221 score @ 1680x1050 with 4xaa and the rest at standard settings

It's like cross-brand SLI or CF.
SLi dont matter. as long as the cards have the same memory amount you can SLi ANY 570 with another 570.

use the SLi hack for your board. when i had SLi GTX275's the hack worked great with my CHIV!

WAIT
for CF, cards can ONLY BE CF'd WITH CARDS IN THE SAME AREA
like 48xx with 48xx and 57xx with 57xx. or 69xx with 69xx.
the only exceptions are:
5970+any58xx card
3870+4870

got it?

I thought that the SLI hack only worked for older cards and boards? Does it work for new stuff too?

It supports the mixing of a ATI + Nvidia cards synergizing CF + SLI together.

No, even better. Its like combining the performance of any two video cards you desire. Generation/architecture/brand differences are irrelevant using this kind of technology. It all stacks.

Performance is better, however, still not that great. Guru3d(I think) tested Dual GTX 580s in SLI and with the Lucid Hydra chip and it failed pretty badly. Lost 30fps or something like that.
