I think everyone should wait and see if the dx11 patch is released on the 24th.
Until then, everyone's opinions don't carry any weight (in regards to gfx)
I really don't understand from a business point of view, why they would ship it without dx11, to only patch it in a few days later. This has me worried that a dx11 patch doesn't exist and it's all gamer speculation in anticipation that it will become something it's not.

So how does it play? Any major dips on highest settings? Game breaking graphics aside how fluid is it with what they gave us? plan on picking it up after work.

Crysis 1 had amazing graphics at the time of release, this has mediocre graphics compared to what's out now.
compared to what? bulletstorm, homefront, dragon age 2, starcraft, civ 5, mafia 2, metro 2033, farcry 2, bfbc2, ? Seriously the only one that it battles is metro 2033 and put that into perspective. metro 2033 @ dx11 full out vs crysis 2 currently @ dx9 full out.

Crysis 1 w/ mods looks better, but crysis 1 full out is equal. I got to see the game about two hours ago and it is not a console port. i've seen the xbox and ps3 demos and it blows the hell out of them away. did hear the graphics are better in the final but i'm confident it still blows them away.

expect the patch to add alot of that "something's missing" feeling to the graphics.

Im really kidding (well, i was being more of a smartass than kidding)....In my honest opinion, im glad there is a slight sacrifice in graphics in order for pc's to run it...if the editor comes out, this will be much better at getting a fan base for a mod as more people can run the game. That was always my problem with the first crysis. You can put all the good stuff in there but if you wanted more people to have the same experience then they would have to have a high end pc to do so.

Edit: Might I add, im sure the community will have tricks up their sleaves to push out better visuals on this game and with the extra fps headroom from the optimizations, we should have some fantastic mods...if they release it to the public.

agreed. his comment is absurd. nothing to back it up with.

People buy this game, you wont be dissapointed in it.
