One of many reasons I won't be buying Crysis 2 until it's <$35. That's how much the game is worth to me.

The reason why games are still $59.99 is because people still buy them at that price.

Blame the brain dead consumer, it is supply and demand after all.

So easy to just call everyone brain dead for their willingness to buy a game at $60.. Some are worth it; I bought SC2 for $60 and it's been a great game, definitely worth the $60.

I'd take the words of a residential EA con-artist with a grain of salt.

You know what's more exploitative? Treating your consumers like brainless idiots.

This. Every other product is priced on it's quality. Even indie games are priced to how well they are done. I don't understand why big publishers don't do the same...

PS2, Xbox and Gamecube games released brand new at 3 price points ($30,$40,$50) depending on the game.

1st and 2nd party games always cost $50 but 3rd party games released at $30 & $40 and some times $50

With the US dollar becoming weaker and weaker against other countries it will only get worse.

when I first go to Japan 4 years ago The dollar was $1=100yen. A few years before that it was $1.30=100yen
now its at $1=77 Yen and only dropping lower.

Lets not mention the Euro and pounds cause my wallet cries when I visit the UK.

For consoles, yes. PC, no. Its ~$80 retail for PC games here. Still, its way way too much.

Most people will buy crappy games as long as they see positive reviews.

It's so amusing to see reviewers sell out when they're bribed but then suddenly change and become all serious and over-critical if they're not bribed for a particular game. Often they'll point out flaws in a game that they completely ignored in other games.

So now you're probably thinking customer reviews are more reliable. I'm afraid those are even more prone to manipulation.
