[BD]Head of EA's free-to-play division calls pricing of $60 games "exploitative" - Page 8

And our wages went up across the board by about 45 cents, or a dollar over the long run as they did it incrementally. It still doesn't make up for the rate of inflation. Inflation is only getting worse too.

Edit: I'm just saying that games are keeping up roughly with our inflated wages more so than the actual inflated dollar's value. As I said I'm fine with 60$ as long as they don't cry when we wait for the price drops.

The problem is the way games are produced. Everything MUST be done before the product is sold. Its not like some car manufacturer where probably designers and initial raw material costs are upfront, then they can gauge response by amount of product sold and change according to that. In games it's all-or-nothing type of thing. If the reviews and first users say your $X million investment made an ultra ****ty game, then ur unlikely to recoup that huge investment. And with greedy shareholders breathing down ur back and gamers being fickle you see why they want to make as much profit as they can.

I haven't paid $50 for a game since ebay has existed. Don't know why anyone would. All you have to do is wait ten seconds and you'll get it for $35-$40 with free shipping. Stop saying "OMG OMG OMG I have to have this right now!! RIGHT NOW!!!" And you'll have more money.

No tax either, so I just picked up MvC3 for $38 shipped. Not bad.

But yes, games at the $60 price tax are ridiculous. But as long as we keep paying it, they'll keep selling it to us at that price.

I bought metro 2033 for $30 shipped and dead space 2 for $35 shipped. Absolutely no reason to pay those ridiculous prices.

crysis 2, BLOPS, MW2 are NOT worth 60 bucks.
especially crysis 2.
id pay 60 bucks for crysis 1. but crysis 2 was just an insult the the PC gaming race.

As long as people keep buying them, the price will still remain $60. Product is only worth what people are willing to pay for it.
