Gaming monitor shootout

Thread Starter
Dell UltraSharp U2311H
HP ZR24w 24''
Asus VG236H

Reviews say the ZR's black need help, other reviews say the dell's coating is annoying, some say 120hz is supreme.

Which do you think reigns supreme? (For gaming specifically in this case, and not FPS's. More like Starcraft2, Starwars old republic, rift)

Thanks in advance. Details appreciated! Please help me sort out this headache and finally build myself a tech spec!

From my personal experience, having a 120hz monitor is noticeable. Is it completely necessary, not really. You would be just as happy with a 75hz monitor. I couldn't spend 500$ on a monitor, but if you have the money then I say go for it.

I opted for a 22in, check my sig below. I got it on sale about a year ago. I had to give up 1920x1080 or 1920x1200 for a 1680x1050. Personally, 22in is big enough for me and it's nice not to need SLI/CFto max settings. If you need the size though, go big or go home.

This 2311 dell? If I had the money i'd get the u2711, which I'm told is superb.

Thanks for input. Anyone else care to comment?
