Let. It. Die.
Is this really that difficult of a concept for producers of all kinds? You can modernize greats all you want in hollywood, but they never have the same luster as the original, because well, its the original.
Halo was supposed to be a trilogy, and it was, kinda, sorta, until they killed it with halo 2.5 that is ODST, and then lets milk a prequel out of it. Come up with something new, i honestly wouldnt care if you released 10$ expansions here and there for multiplayer, but stop it already with the "how can we make this franchise more CoD like by milking it for every last tenth of a penny"
At least hollywood has the common sense to remake things that are over 10 years old.
What the #%&* is wrong with halo: combat evolved, as it is? The storyline was interesting enough, and it was fun to play through. Voices are there and its graphics are bearable.
The final fantasy fanboi's (myself included) always beg for an FF7 remake, and we have a good reason for that. Its missing full voiceovers and small elements that could bring the story to life even further. But square enix has the common sense to leave it alone. The storyline is still deeply emotional and the enviroment has a reflection about the world as we know it today. The Gold Saucer is like vegas, in the middle of a lifeless desert comes to a guilded sense of happiness and prosperity. And the materia production speaks of a world thats sucking the life and resources out of the planet at an alarming rate all for the name of buisnuess and the control of buisnuess upoun the political enviroment.
Given Square enix's current history with final fantasies (all arent very good after 10), we can dream about a FF7 in todays world, but if it were to be made, im afraid that it will not meet up to the dreams that we have.
