Need help choosing card for Dell u3011

In the past I always buy a hot card, but I need to face facts I'm not doing any gaming, it seems ridiculous to spend all that money in hopes that I might pick it up again. I've been running this monitor fine in my old system on my 9800GTX+. Can someone please recommend a good card. My tendancy is to overbuy and I stll need hard drives so it'd be better spent on a nice SSD main
drive some good level advice would be nice. It's too bad they don't seem to do all in wonders anymore I wouldn't mind a tuner + remote lol

You need a decent amount of VRAM to run that thing at native res..if you want to go green and you don't plan to game, 2 GB 560 will do, else go with a 2 GB 6950.

Yeah that is kind if the sweet spot, it or the 6950 oc and a flash to 6970 and to future proof ect.
It's funny but I'm having no qualms with my 9800GTX+ so... almost anything would be a big improvement. I want a nice fast, self correcting 125 GB SSD to dual boot on.. I feel slightly ridiculous with this humongous (my first btw) full tower, when the sandy's are about the coolest chips yet. This tower certainly isn't going to shrink obscurely into the background, perhaps I'll mount a tabletop on it lol

I don't understand. So are you planning to game on this setup? If you are HD6950's are great bang-for-the-buck cards and will be able to support your resolution in the majority of the games out there.

However, if you're not going to be gaming on it stick with what you've got and put your money towards the SSD like you are planning for. Really, most modern cards are able to support your resolution in normal desktop usage without any issues so there's no point in wasting money if it isn't going to make a difference for you.
