One of those what? Coming from someone who owned a 1090T and a Phenom II X4 my i7 blows both of them out of the water. I gained a good 25-35% performance boost overall in my games from going to my i7 2600K compared to my 1090T.

Your Phenom II X4 at 4.1 is the equivalent of an i5 750 at 3.5-3.6 and a 2500K at like 2.6GHz lol...

you just answered your own question, I am not looking for a amd vs Intel war here I just had a very simple question and if you are here to look to bash or or say anything derogatory towards amd please keep that part to yourself! I own many computers, Intel and just this one amd which for better or worse I made my game rig! I am just wondering if I should go and get a good water-cooling setup or better graphics cards (not saying that I don't have good FPS now by the way) to be prepared for future games

if you really want to upgrade...i would look into a pair of 570's....or like railfan said, you could sell your 460's in addition to your max budget and wait for nvidia's new flagship gpu to be released (march 24 @ 6:00 a.m.)....rumored to be the GTX 590 Dual gpu

From what I have seen i7 2600k does not perform any better than i5 2500k for games, so really if he was going to upgrade the i7 would be a waste. But in all honesty your claims of 25-30% in games sounds exaggerated, perhaps in highly CPU intensive games, but very few games are like that.

OP, why not wait until you find a game that you can't play, then look to upgrade. More than likely when the time comes, the cards needed will be cheaper than they are now.
