Gtx 480 sc sli with cpu @ stock

Thread Starter

You see I'm upgrading my PC to go SLI with another gtx 480 sc (EVGA) and I was wondering if theres any chance that my rig will bottleneck with my processor because I'm not planning to overclock.

PC

Motherboardgigabyte ud5 x58
Ram CORSAIR DOMINATOR 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600
Processor Intel Core i7-930 Bloomfield 2.8GHz
VideoCard gtx 480 sc @ stock
HDD 320 gb and 1 tb 3.0 gb/s
PSU COOLER MASTER Silent Pro Gold 1000w
Case Cooler Master HAF 932
Monitor Samsung P2450 - 24"

I play every game with High/Max settings that means V-sync and maximum AA.

thank you for your time.

since u r already running 480 sli , i think u can tweak more cpu speed around 4.0 but u need to get better cooler, stock cpu cooler wouldnt recommend to use

That's going to be an epic bottleneck. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if your frames per second stayed the same in most games, or maybe even drop.

Did you read... he doesn't want/plan to overclock his processor.

Anyways, It should be fine... i7's have extreme amounts of data processing even at stock speeds.
