Crosshair Formula IV System Issues

Thread Starter
Hello I'm looking for some bios setup suggestions to produce a stable OC'd system. Not looking for the extreme thrill but would like to get the best performance out of the hardware I am working with. Since I'm new to this arena not sure where to start but my system is a Asus Crosshair Formula IV MoBo with AMI Bios ver. 1304 , AMD Phenom II 1090T 3.2 GHz BlackBox CPU, two AMD HD6850's GPU's in crossfire setup, catalyst ver 11.4, 4X4GB (16GB) Corsair DDR3 (CMX4GX32A1600C9)XMS3 1600MHz (9-9-9-24), Thermaltake 850W PWS, 3 Dell UltraSharp U2311H monitors in eyefinity mode, running Windows 7 Ultimate x64.

Initial bios setup is all default, (CPU 3.2GHz, Mem 1333MHz), and pretty stable. I have played around with freq/timings a bit, after reading some posts, and got some better benchmarks but no stability in the OS. I find OC'ing is very subjective at best but there does seem to be a method to the madness. With that said I must default to the experts. Any suggestions???? Thanks.........

If you haven't seen this thread yet http://www.overclock.net/amd-general...ing-guide.html it has a ton of very good info, plus gives you a very good path (order) to follow.

In bios
Ai Overclock tuner - Manual
AMD Turbo Core - Disable
PCIE Freq - 100
Dram Freq - Manually enter ram manufacture Freq spec
Dram Timing Configuation - Manufacture specs (mine (7-8-7-24-40-1T)
PWM Phase controll - Full Phase
CPU Voltage OCP - Enabled
CPU PWM Freq - Auto
CPU Load Line Calibration - Full Phase
CPU/NB LLC - Full Phase
CPU/NB Voltage OCP - Enabled
Extreme OV - Disabled
CPU and NB Voltage Mode - Manual or Offset (I use Offset)
Offset sign - +
(Manually enter a voltage for CPU and CPU/NB voltage)
Dram Voltage - Enter manufacture spec
----
----
----
CPU Spread Spectrum - Disabled
others not mentioned can be left on auto

These are basic settings that should get you started after you research CPU stock voltage and temp. (you can start with 1.3v and test) 1.55v max when under load. Max temp 55c
CPU/NB voltage can start with 1.2v and test

Best to enter a value to the above list for starters and OC in bios, don't use utility OC'ing, always better in the bios.

Feel free to PM me or check out the Formula/Extreme Club link in my sig if you need more help.
