I'd say pick a form factor for your mobo, then go from there.
atx, matx, itx?

if you want an expandable beast and aren't apposed to AMD, then you could get this:

Case: storm scout

PSU: XFX XXX Edition P1-650X-CAG9 650W Power Supply

RAM: Corsair CMP4GX3M2A1600C9 Dominator Dual Channel 4096MB PC12800 DDR3 Memory - 1600MHz, 2x2048MB, 9-9-9-24

Not to downplay the 1100t in its awesomeness, but are games still only utilizing 4 cores at the moment?

anyone know how many cores eve uses?

Case says it is compatible with ATX and micro-ATX mobos. I'm on my phone atm, can someone check and make sure the mobo will actually work in the computer? Thanks.

Bump, still looking at stuff, looks like everything fits okay, just need to find two good monitors and keyboards for cheap.

please, if these parts don't look good or don't fit, tell me now.

No thanks. I'll keep my clothes on.

For keyboards, if you don't have any preferences and you won't be pressing more than a couple keys at a time, then just about anything will do. For monitors, you need to decide on a budget before anyone can recommend anything, plus the minimum resolution and screen size you are willing to go.

For the computer itself, if you are moving it that much and coming from a notebook computer, I'd say go with mini ITX preferably, or at least micro ATX. They are a lot more portable than an ATX Storm Scout. Here's my recommendation:

Silverstone Sugo SG05BB-450 case with power supply $120
ASRock H67M-ITX motherboard $100
Core i5 2500 CPU with fan/heatsink $210
4GB dual channel DDR3 memory (1333MHz 1.5v) $40
slim SATA optical drive (for notebooks) $30
SATA adapter for slim optical drive $10
60/64GB SSD $130
GeForce GTX 560 Ti $230

== $870 + shipping/tax
(add another $100 if you don't recycle Windows from your notebook)

See this thread!!! << someone built one like it, with an older Core i3 but the same case/PSU and graphics card.

This will be a powerful performer in the size of a tiny box, with an Intel quad core that turbos up to 3.7GHz, Nvidia's latest generation midrange, reasonable cooling with 120mm intake and great performance with the SSD. Now, I don't know your reason for wanting 500GB of HDD space, but Windows 7 only takes around 15GB and Eve takes around 6GB, so a 60/64GB SSD will have plenty of space and will be screaming fast.

I don't see how that qualifies for Small Form Factor.

Zap's recommendation is very nice for a portable gaming machine. I'm planning on building something similar by July or when Z68 M-ITX boards become available. Whichever comes first.
