New to overclocking, having a bit of trouble.

Thread Starter
Using the setup described in my sig, I tried increasing my FSB by just 10MHz, but even that is resulting in bluescreens when I run 3Dmark06 to test the new speed.

I was told by someone I consider relatively knowledgable that I should be able to hit 2.6 GHz no problem. Am I doing something wrong here? I've read plenty of "intro to overclocking" bits here and on other fora, seems I'm doing everything right. I am, however, either doing something wrong, or getting too greedy for even 10MHz.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Have you tried messing with your memory timings? You might need to raise them (Just the first 4 for now) a little or lower your memory frequency. Also you may want to bump up your cpu voltage a little.

Is your processor a 939 or an AM2? also what type of memory do you have and what's the specs on it? (Frequency, cas, voltage, size per stick, etc.)

(Lol, we named our systems the same thing )

no on the timings, but I've fiddled with the voltage a bit.

my cpu is 939, I'll get back to you on the memory stats... cpuz is throwing a fit at the moment

hitting bsod so quick prolly heat. Not sure about amd but older pentium chips ran HOT HOT HOT with stock heatsync. So I suggest grabbing a program to monitor temp and run wprime or prime 95 tests to see where your at. Anything over 80 is pretty bad.

kinda dumb question but was it passing at stock clock
