Who has the biggest bad crunching machine

Thread Starter
Its late wishing I could build a folding beast. I have been looking at a setup like this.
ASUS Z8NA-D6C
2 x Intel Xeon E5620 Westmere 2.4GHz 12MB L3 Cache LGA 1366
6 x Crucial 2GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM ECC Unbuffered DDR3
$1200

So after pricing servers and looking up xeon chips, and my dreams flying left and right. I came down from the folding high.

So I guess I was wondering if anyone out there besides deeebee has a beast of there own.

They may not put all their eggs in one basket, but we have a few people with nice farms that will outdo that setup.

So are you building that or this is just for fun. O.o

Once the doonations and auctions come through forr Syrillian, we will have a nice folding army.

Each system will have an i7-960, 12GB of system RAM, Corsair AX-1200, and 4x GTX 560. They will be housed in case Labs M10

We are planning 4 of these.

Does ram really affect folding speeds? If not, then why the intense amounts of ram?

Because it's for Syrillian. And this is overclock.net.

Very serious. Corsair has already shipped stuff. We are also speaking with Alex from MSi here on the forums to get the big bang xpowers and 9x GTX 560 ti. If all goes to plan, I pick up the M10s Friday. We know 2 of these will be built, just not sure when / if the other 2 will happen. haven't you checked the lounge?
