Tats the rip wasn't directed at you personally. It just baffles my mind why people jump up and down and say grab a more expensive cooler that isn't on par to begin with.

HYPOTHETICAL EXAMPLE
It reminds me of lets say Intel i7-990x $1000
AMD 1100T $400 (In this example AMD outperforms Intel)

get an Intel and watercooling just to be on par with AMD. Who in their right mind would do such a thing.

Now lets get back to reality. If his RAM was G Skill Trident's then yes he should get a Corsair or just go to watercooling to start with.

I have zero tolerance for sarcasm and ignorance ....

Price preformance is not part of this build.... This is a serious hot rod

I am simply giving the OP my take on this, Again, I have to like the H70 for its footprint .... and again.... the d14 fans are beyond ugly

If this were a price preformance discussion I would agree with you

But ultimantly it is not and the H70 has been seen at $ 94.99 and 110 CFM slipstreams roll for 7 bucks a piece ...

Still more but worth it for a smokin build such as this

Doesn't matter if the noctua fans on NH-D14 are ugly, there some of the best fans you can get. If you don't like the look then paint it, NH-D14 is cheaper & better. I can understand if were doing extreme OC and etc, but he's not. NH-D14 will serve his purpose just fine. But again if he doesn't like the look of the fan's then paint them, don't knock performance over looks..seriously.

Damn it, I should've went with the NH-D14 and painted the ugly fans, never thought about that til I read this... those hideous fans turned me away from it due to me not wanting to look into my PC to see some peachy color fans_..<sigh> This sucks lol

I would actually go with the new H60 as SB chips aren't that hot at all. I had an H70 on my i7 rig and snagged a cheap h50 for my SB rig and it tops out at ~62c at 5.0 In my experience, SB chips become voltage limited well before they become temp limited. Granted I don't have hyper threading but 62c isnt bad.
I am planning on a lot of intensive video editing with uncompressed HD files.

Yeah, I found it in stock and bought it. It turns out every single site that said they had the UD7 in stock... turns out they were on backorder. If they're on backorder, why did they list it as available?

Wait, what? What about with the Asus Maximus IV Extreme, which is what I ended up buying. If not, what gfx card should I buy?

Frozers are beasts - I just sold my TF2 580, it was awesome. You might want to look into an external exhaust model though if you are going SLI as the top card will just be sucking hot air off the bottom and then blowing back.
