look around

TigerDirect just a few days ago had the AMD 955 - $120 and the AMD 1090T - $180 BNIB

so, pretty good prices if you ask me

Yea but I don't have anything above 100 dollars. Or else I'd already have the 1090T if i had the finances. Thats why I'm sticking with the Phenom II X2 555 BE or Phenom II X4 920 choices. I'll pretty much get a 920 though cause its a certain quad core

Will it still do better than the 9850 Black Edition despite the dormant cores ?. Remember, my 9850 Black Edition is a C2 with 2MB of L3 Cache overclocked to 2.9 Ghz.

Just depends on the application. If it can utilize more then 2 cores then you old chip will have better performance. Not sure how better but even 2 cores at 4Ghz vs 4 @ 2.9Ghz if the application can utilize 4 cores I would think that would win. Someone can correct me if that is not that case.

So I'm better off with the 920 Quad Core then, that way I can make sure I get a decent but effective quad core right ? Btw nice CM Punk Nexus Avatar ^_^
