Best quiet 140 mm fan ?

Best "in-between" 140 mm fan ?

Case fans ?

Best cooling 120mm fan - 240cfm delta someone can find the exact model number and its really loud.

Best quiet 120mm fan - nexus d12sl (yate loon) it makes no noise (well for me anyway) or some other low speed fan

Best inbetween 120mm fan - GT 1850

best quiet 140mm fan - enermax UCTB14, i dont have it but apparently you can hear it

best case fan - delta (but its loud)

Heat sink fan - delta (some one is doing a review of the best fans for this)

Rad fan - delta

Noiseblocker are good from what i have seen in reviews and what people say but i think they are a bit expensive

Gentle typhoon are very good to they are used a lot on heat sinks and rads becuase they are quiet, high static pressure and push a lot of air for there speed.

Yate loons are good budget fans, just because they are cheap doesn't mean they are crap.

hope that helps

I can't imagine how loud those Deltas are. I have 2 Scythe Kaze Ultras 3000's and it's so loud it's barely tolerable. They are only 45db to the Delta's 62.

I think those Scythe fans are very conservatively rated. I've used Delta, NMB, and Panaflo fans for years, and they seem to match all the other high performance fans.

I don't think there is a "best of" fan in any category. Build quality, price, noise level and quality, efficiency, and overall performance factor in. What application are you using them for?

I've heard good things of Gentle Typhoons (Scythe, made by Nidec).
Sanyo Denkis are also good.
Delta are very good, and have various ranges, but can have some serious motor grind if undervolted (my experience).
My favorite all-around fans are the Panaflo ones. They come in various speeds, last a long time, have good static pressure and flow (depending on model), and can be found used, still in great shape.

For cheap I've used Yate Loon (with good success, although they failed early for me), and Top Motor (never had one fail, but they are louder).

Try checking out the thread linked below: it has some fan tests in regards to radiator airflow. That should give a pretty real-world review for the fans, and is what I based my purchasing on (recently bought some Scythe 1900 RPM FDB fans, of which I don't remember the model number).

I hope this helps some.
