6950 unlocked high temps - Page 2

The highest I've ever seen my unlocked 6950 go is 69 degrees, and that was at 925/1350 and an ambient temp of around 22 degrees.

I thought anything above this was abnormal

My issue here isn't exactly the temperature, the temperature I can get down easily, has long has the fan speeds up, the issue is, that the fan profile in bios don't change when I tune the bios, and has it is now it's not enough fan speed, yes it's a 6970 bios.
I thought about just unlocking the shaders, but i'm liking so much has it is atm that I would prefer to keep this bios, but will give it a try later on, to see if with a 6950bios the fan changes take effect.

I'd strongly recommend flashing a modded 6950 bios to just unlock the shaders - sounds like that 6970 bios you have is doing some funky stuff (like not controlling the fan).

It controls the fan, it just don't allow me to change it while editing the bios in RBE, aside from that it is fine, and like I said at start, if I keep afterburner on, the automatic fan control there work's fine solving the issue completely.

Yea, just use MSI Afterburner to modify your fan speed. If it doesn't work in CCC....

Lol you got me wrong, I'm not talking about CCC, that also works fine, ... I think haven't tried it yet, what doesn't work is editing the bios fan control with "radeon bios editor" really editing the bios. CCC control is a uninteresting option has is fully manual, so not reacting automatically to drops increases in temp.
But yeah will keep using afterburner.
