The very first person other than him who performed any of his hacks then could be considered a co-conspirator. He had to tell someone or he would have been the only one to have ever done it. Sony The courts (because this would then be a criminal case) doesn't need to go after anyone else, they simply need to prove that this is what happened. Shouldn't be that hard seeing as this jackass was all over the place boasting about his hacking ability to the whole world.

He got noobed.

EDIT: I must say that I am in no way a fan of Sony, in fact I try to steer clear of them whenever possible. (however I did get a killer deal on a 37" Bravia last Xmas I couldn't pass up} And I haven't owned a console other than my kid's Wii since the original Playstation came out. I'm just telling it like it is. Sony has every right to break this guy's balls.

Conspiracy is not something Sony can pursue. The courts would have to decide to pursue that.

They would also have to collect evidence that proves fail0verflow and Geohot agreed to "break the law at some time in the future, and, in some cases, with at least one overt act in furtherance of that agreement."

There is no evidence of that between Geohot and fail0verflow.

Yeah i know, I was just throwing that out there showing that sony is going after two peeps. Fail is a team of guys though, and from my understanding their really not trying to fight too much.

I dont think this is anyway a conspiracy.
Just a kid being able to hack a "unhackable system". Which I see has his right. He did the same with the iphone and won. Its his hardware hes not profiting from any of this. Sony should go more after the pirates. IMO
If MS can make it so they know if you play a priated game, why cant sony?

true, but in this instance, geo had the chance to pirate and didnt, so it would be like the guy walking up to your door holding a knife in the air then turnign and walking away...criminally possibly, civil..no chance

Just like all the Pirate Bay founders left Sweden, this is a similar move. I would probably do the same thing.

No wonder you were sued. Probably for something pretty stupid. Hell, you don't even know what capitalization is.

In his dealings he had conspired with others to make money from his hacks, and in that case,

http://www.webcitation.org/5kwRJht8e
when did i say he could never face criminal prosecution? i never did, i just said the current case against him, the civil one dealing with him being sued by sony for jailbreaking/hacking IP , can not lead to his imprisonment if he is found liable. i've seen this particular user in the past in other post, make such a claim as the result of the case's outcome.

now if he has tampered with evidence, or actually did flee to avoid the civil case, or committed any criminal acts, i do agree that he should be held criminally accountable and brought to justice by the federal government with full extent of the law, and i don't believe that sony should have any say in the matter (as they are the ones currently accusing him of fleeing and tampering with evidence, the court has yet to decide this is the case, another trial will need to be started and evidenced gathered if there is any merit to sony claims.)

so since you can't really form a coherent argument, you attack my lack of using caps...but i can say one thing, i at least know how to spell SERIOUS!
