Haha yea, thanks for sharing a laugh man.

My experience with suse has been a mixed bag. I don't too much care for YaST, I didn't mind zypper though. It's no pacman, but nothing is haha, and as long it does its job, then I don't mind. But when I used it, it seemed to have a lot of trouble resolving dependencies. SUSE is nice, but its just not for me.

You're obviously pretty ignorant about OpenSuse.

If I am ignorant about OpenSUSE because of that one statement then so are all of the OpenSUSE users in that IRC channel.

yes linux distro's offer more of a choice than say one of their proprietary cousins do...

by choosing a "distro" you are basically removing some of that "choice" in favor of taking out the "heavy lifting" aspects of creating and maintaining a linux distro of your own.

some have chosen to criticize suse for apparently lack of choice, but failing to realize it was that free choice in the first place that allows suse to exist.

I've been testing the new version of opensuse and I kind of like it. I still think arch is the best but suse feels very professional and is a good desktop distro. 11.4 seems to have improved upon the things that bothered me in 11.3. I guess I'm one of the rare ones who likes yast.

Microchip and cbf400 are very solid and helpful people... Chrysantine is a known bad-*** on the forum and the IRC channel... I frequented both often (been a while, should start again) and I have no qualms with the openSUSE community... they have always been very helpful and passionate about their OS (and also territorial )...
