Need help picking out a CPU cooler

Thread Starter
Hi I am a new member to overclock forums and in need of some help. I currently have a ZEROtherm Nirvana cooling my i7 950 at stock speed with HT off and am not liking the temps I am getting after a couple hours of gaming I am reaching 60c and core temp is saying the max temps I am getting for my sessions are 68-69c because of spiking temps. I dont know if I should buy a Corsair h70 with Scythe AP-15's or spend a few extra dollars and get a Rasa 750. With that said I have never done water cooling and am scared I could ruin something while installing a complex WC kit for the first time. So please if anyone has some friendly advice it would be much help. =)

In case anyone was wondering this is the cpu cooler I have

Hi, Im running h50 on my rig at 4ghz, ht on stable. max temps under load is mid 70's. I think h70 would be a good choice, pretty easy to install.

If you've never water cooled before I would get the H70. If you like diving into stuff you haven't tried before I think the rasa 750 would be fun to install and definitely more cooling over the h70.

Well honestly all I want is to be able to have good temps with HT on so my cpu will be at 3.2ghz and I wont have to worry about temps rising so much after a couple hours of gaming is there a thread I can read that anyone knows of that has my my cpu on a h70 cooler with some idle and max temps I know I know I should judge because of room temp's will be different and change this but I could get a general idea

Our cup's are similar, you would have no probs reaching 3.2 with very decent temps with h70.

Alright well I have done some research with the H70 with those Scythe AP-15's in a push pull config. I will order that set because I'm not ready to jump into a true water cooling kit thanks everyone for helping me make my mind =D

I'd rather go for Corsair H60 it's much quieter and performance is better
