COD does run on an extremely modified verison of the Q3 engine. You can still see the lisencing/copyright stuff on the back of the game disc. "This product contains software technology licensed from Id Software ("Id Technology")".

Back on topic, as far as sales go, MW3 will dominate on consoles. On PC, BF will probably sell more because PC is the platform the franchise started on...

BF3 has a huge chance. The chance of becoming a better game. And I wouldn't consider that a "chance" anyways.

BC2 saw huge sames across all platforms, selling millions of copies. Nothing COD can release for mw3 has a chance to compete with bf3, graphics, gameplay, etc. They cant collapse an entire building or pull off the sniper part from those videos.
I'll take a wild guess and say that MW3 will sell twice the copies of BF3. I'm also pretty sure that my guess is pretty much right.

I love BF and bad companies but really CoD is a trend. CoD is the world of warcraft for the consoles, it's the same kind of a giant. People expect the same kind of gameplay and they'll get it too, and they will pay for it.

I'll judge BF3 for how good its netcode(PC) will be on release. If its anything like BC2's was, we're in for a rough 6months.

I think Mr Pachter is right, altough most BF fans oversees BF taking 1st place to COD, it won't happen, at least not this year.

BC2 (the newest game in the franchise) has sold 5.35m, while Black ops (newest as well) 22.53m, source vgchartz. I really don't think things will turnover in just an iteration this year.

For me, BF3 will be a huge success if it manage to sell 10m all platforms combined. That's double it currently sells.

1million PC copies sold will be huge and overtaking for COD this year, this might happen.

I agree with this man. BF3 will not be as big a commercial success as MW3 will. It will be a better game though.

Thread Starter
I have 2 copies of BFBC2 free. I got one from APB going down, and the other cause dragon age origins kept crashing on me.

I never bought a bf game just because i always played cod on 360. After the last couple years with my new PC i havent touched my 360, and i plan on buying the next battlefield game on PC.

I always liked EA for their customer service and the NFS series pre-most wanted. Though i still need to play the new hot pursuit.

BS, is CoD fanboy writing that article, BF never outsold CoD, but it is increasingly becoming popular, and selling more, soon we will conquer the world!

Then because it's after BF2 then it changes all things, then will be THE king.

I'm sorry, I didn't see it that way.

/sarcasm

I knew it, I was just making a point. I could post the sales numbers for BF2 and CODMW2 as well, it won't chance places.
