Yes. This.

These are my settings. yrmv.

Sorry I took so long I had to write these by hand.
QPI Frequency -Autoyes
Memory Ratio -Auto6
CPU Core(Non-turbo)Ratio -20
CPU BClk -177
Spread Spectrum -Enableddisabled
PCI Frequency -Auto
PCI-E Frequency -Auto100
Dynamic CPU Vcore offset -+40mV
DDR3 Memory voltage -auto1.65V
IOH Voltage -1.10v1.20V
CPU + Uncore Voltage -Default +120mv

intel ht tech diabled(hyperthreading)
xd bit enabled
speedstep enabled
c state tech disabled

qpi freq auto
memory ratio 8 (you should use 6)
xmp support disabled
cpu core 20

overclock config
BClk 191(bump up to this slowly while testing in prime 95 for stablity)
spread spectrum disabled
intel turbo tech enabled
over vlotage +40mv(increase in small increments as prime95 fails depending on bsod code)
ddr3 1.65V
qpi and uncore +120mv(increase in small increments as prime95 fails according to bsod codes)

You can get 4.0 with hyperthreading on, it will just take a whole lot more vcor and qpi uncore.

UPDATE: Thank you SO much! it worked, but I only have 4 threads now, instead of 8, which I assume is due to disabling hyperthreading. How much would I need to increase vcore and qpi + uncore to get hyperthreading as well?

You'll probably need quite a bit more vcore to get HT enabled as well. A friend of mine used to sell overclocked Alienwares through his dad's store, and he usually needed at least +200mV to reliably keep a stable OC with HT enabled. Utterly atrocious boards for overclocking, at least compared with just about any "big name" board.

He showed me 2 units that came back pretty charred from mosfet burnouts. I'd be leery of pushing those boards at all, myself.

if you at +40mv your vcore is 1.28 for me to get over 4.0 with ht on I had to get my vcore over 1.4
and the qpi at 1.35

I've always told myself that if I do burn out the mb I'll just throw it in the gutter and go and buy another. I want a rampage 3 gene W00T!

I always figured my cpu was a good chip. How so you ask? Well originally I was able to do 4.0 ht on with the original bios which sukked. and now I can do 4.2 with ht off at 1.3 vcore on a dell proprietary motherboard.(read p.o.s.)

I do love my compuer tho and I love the case. So what if you all think me wierd.

OT your avatar is that your trans am? I love those old smokey and the bandit models.
