and the qpi at 1.35

so it's JUST vcore? and that would be around +200mV?

OT your avatar is that your trans am? I love those old smokey and the bandit models.

Lol my friend paid me to replace the dead boards with Rampage II Genes (this was a few years back, obviously). Out of probably 100 or so units, I KNOW at least those 2 burned up, and he complained about several others doing the same thing. You may well get your wish...

Hahaha nah it's a picture of Joe Biden from an Onion article http://www.theonion.com/articles/shirtless-biden-washes-trans-am-in-white-house-dri,2718/

A friend of mine used to sell overclocked Alienwares through his dad's store, and he usually needed at least +200mV to reliably keep a stable OC with HT enabled. Utterly atrocious boards for overclocking, at least compared with just about any "big name" board.

He showed me 2 units that came back pretty charred from mosfet burnouts. I'd be leery of pushing those boards at all, myself.

so +200mV will smoke it?

Possibly. The majority of his units are fine, as far as I know, and they were all running with at least that much voltage. It's definitely pushing it though.

What you should do now is see if you can get the memory to overclock. Try the 8 multiplier and if need be loosen up the timings on your ram

Out of time today, I'm afraid, but I will try it tomorrow when I have more time. Thanks again for your continuing support smile.gif

I'm willing to push it if I have to in order to get 4 Ghz w/ Hyperthreading

I was able to up the memory multiplier to 8, but how would I tell if I need to loosen up the timings on my RAM, and then how do I do it?

Hey guys whats up =) I've got exactly the same computer as OP and I would like to input some of my bios settings for a stable 4ghz with HT on:

Overvoltage Config
Dynamic CPU Vcore Offset - [+ 60mv]
DDR3 Memory Voltage - [1.60V]
IOH Voltage - [1.15V]
QPI and Uncore Voltage - [Default]

Overclock Config
CPU BClk (MHz) - [190]
Spread Spectrum - [Disabled]
Intel Turbo Mode Tech - [Enabled]

CPU Config
Intel HT Tech - [Enabled]
XD Bit Capability - [Enabled]
Intel Speedstep Tech - [Enabled]
Intel C State Tech - [Disabled]

So that's about it, have fun with your new overclock. I like it cause it gets me 7.7 in W.E.I, and games run as smoothly as they can (unless my x2 HD5670's are the bottlenecks lol).

Here are some pics:

Let me ask you something, since you have the same computer as my brother. He recently bought a GTX 570 to replace both HD5670s, and everytime he play Crisys, he gets BSOD and the computer shuts off. When reading the GPUs specs it says that the minimum power supply recommended was a 550w, and I think this computer came with a 525w PSU. Could it be that the video card suck all the power out of the PSU? Or he got a bad GPU?

Sorry to threadjack
