i5-750 max temp?

Thread Starter
Hey guys I just started folding, but I got a problem that if I put cpu usage to 100% for it, then the temps will hit around 76-78 degrees celsius, even when I'm on stock clock. Is this safe?

I'm on stock cooling btw.

I saw it. It says that Tcase should not go above 72 degrees, but I see people on the forum elsewhere saying that i5 can run up to 80 degrees easily.
Weird thing is I idle at 30C not at something high like 40-45.

Your CPU CAN handle 80c, but you'd like to keep it under 70c if you want to be absolutely safe for long
Anyhow, using the Stock cooler is not recommended, it sometimes can't do it's job even on stock clocks.
How about buying an aftermarket cooler?
